24: Day 6, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Did anyone else think this episode was stalled so that the explosion would occur on the 59th minute of the hour? What did you think about President Logan offering to help Jack? Do you think he has a hidden agenda?

Sorry, for the lack of notes…

Check out this episode’s recap on BuddyTV.

Heroes: Ch 17 "Company Man"

Lines and moments:

  • “How do you feel about paper??” (Check out the Primatech company website)
  • “I’m comfortable with morally grey.”
  • “If she manifests, she belongs to us”
  • “She’s better off thinking you’re a serial killer than the truth”
  • Hiro was a cute little kid.
  • Does Ted look a little Neanderthal to you?
  • Claire, once again, endures the explosion of her own home.
  • “I love you Clairebear”

Connections:
Claire’s home with her birth parents was in the building owned by the Petrellis
The pigeon balcony used to be where she lived with her birth mom.
Hiro’s father and Claire’s father were associates; Bennett reported to him.
Claire’s father and the invisible man were associates (prior to his permanent disappearance)
The bridge = the site where security breaches are ‘taken care of’

Claire’s father wasn’t so “bad” after all. He’s been trying to protect Claire’s secret so he wouldn’t have to return her to the company.

Misc.
Hana/Wireless has her own website with notes.

  • DarkUFO has screencaps posted from the episode on the LOST Easter Eggs page. The site is a good resource for all things LOST.
  • Check out BuzzSugar’s recap of episode 9. Even more interesting is her review of episode 8 (“Flashes Before Your Eyes”) symbolism.

American Idol: Ladies night, round 1

Wow, 5 hours of American Idol this week. I was too lazy to take ‘notes’ during the men’s round (lots of safe choices last night), but I will sit with my laptop tonight.

Stephanie Edwards
Great stage presence! She looked so comfortable on the stage as if she already a pro. Sings like one too. I loved her energy. Stephanie “brought it” as the first performer of the night and of the start of the ladies round.

Amy Krebs
She has such a great potential with her voice, but I agree it was a safe song choice. They should make a rule against ballads.

Leslie Hunt
I was impressed with her performance as some of her clips show her a bit aloof. Not sure if she is strong enough to make Top 10.

Sabrina Sloan
Wow, she has a strong and flexible voice! Will be looking forward to seeing her progress.

Antonella Barber
I could sense and hear her nerves – a singer’s worst enemy. I enjoyed the tone of her voice thus far in the competition and know she can do better.

Jordin Sparks
Amazing voice for someone so young. Competition is really shaping up! What a power boost for her to hear the judges comments.

Nicole Tranquillo
Great energy and power. TV makes it sound like she was yelling, so it was hard to “hear” her voice. I agree with the judges that it wasn’t a good fit or something. I liked her hair straightened tonight – not that it affects the sound of her voice LOL.

Haley Scarnato
Challenging song choice to pull off. I liked the power notes in her upper register. Not sure if it was nerves, but it seemed to be missing something. Good performance for that song though; that song takes incredible range and control.

Melinda Doolittle
What a sweet and gracious woman. Her song choice did not show off her range as much as it showed her control and power. And it was fun!

Alaina Alexander
Tough song… Her performance wasn’t edgy enough for me. Sweet sounding voice

Gina Glocksen
Another challenging song to pull off and I thought she did very well.

LaKisha Jones
I actually got chills at the end. What a perfect song for American Idol. LaKisha sang with so much conviction and power. I was starting to get weary after 23 performances, but LaKisha ended the show with an awesome performance.

24: Day 6, 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Moments in no order:

  • “We’ve been ambushed” (Has anyone counted how many times this has been said in this series?)
  • Milo = “untrained field ops” always the fall guy
  • “I’ll explain everything later…” click! (This has been said a bazillion times too)
  • The Chloe-Morris-Milo triangle LOL
  • “No life is worth everything I’ve built” What in the world does Jack’s dad think he built?
  • Who is more “spineless”? Mr. President or Tom?
  • Mr. President is certainly more clueless
  • 2 BtVS alumni this season
  • I like Rena Sofer, but her acting is both good and not-so-good/believable in this episode
  • Cameo of a season 5 character!
