Grey’s Anatomy: "Wishin’ and Hopin’"

Kate Burton’s [Dr. Ellis Grey] acting was amazing and believable in this episode. The writers added so much to her character during her short, lucid state.

  • The Denny Duquette Memorial Clinic
  • “8 days, 8 million dollars”
  • Kate Burton’s (Dr. Ellis Grey) acting in this episode:
    • Learning she has Alzheimer’s
    • Her intense conversations with Meredith
  • Izzy & Alex stealing patients from ER
  • “I embrace trashy”
  • “Bambi got married”
  • Addison rushing in to sedate the patient
  • Dr. Grey’s final lucid conversation with the Chief
  • “I’m super scrubbed. I’m minus my epidermis”
  • “I don’t do rings” and the answer/embrace that followed
  • “Calliope Iphegina Torres” (I love the tie in of the first five minutes “Callie O’Malley” and the last five minutes of George standing up for her.)
  • “When we get money, we’ll hire a wife”
  • I love the recent (subtle) plugs for Breast Cancer Awareness, Cervical Cancer, and Alzheimer’s
  • The panning shot of OR1 as the phone is ringing – everyone is passed out!
