Premiere
Now, if you know me, I enjoy watching an occasional Food Network show, but I am not a cook.
After watching the most recent season of “The Next Food Network Star“, I wanted to watch Amy Finley’s premiere of her prize show “The Gourmet Next Door”. Of all the contestants on last season’s competition, I knew her dishes & menu would probably get me excited to cook.
When I saw her menu during the first 5 minutes of the premiere, I seriously wanted to jump out of my recliner and make her dessert. (Those ice cream puff profiteroles are my FAVORITE.)
I know TV “magic” makes food prep seem much easier, but Amy’s gourmet meal seemed so basic and easy for even me. I could see myself making this meal for a get together or even for a family dinner, while also trying to tend to 3 kids, help with homework, etc.
One reason I like to watch the Food Network shows is for their instructional and cultural value and Amy’s show was chock-full of tidbits that I appreciated without being overwhelmed with irrelevant data.
Go Amy! It’s great to see her gracing my TV screen again. Kudos to Food Network for giving her a second chance (after Jag’s departure). WTG Food Network fans for voting for Amy. I know Rory’s show would have also been good – so that was a tough final choice.
Looking forward to more Gourmet Next Door
