After six episodes of “The Gourmet Next Door”, I’ve lost track of Next Food Network Star Amy Finley. I still see Guy Fieri doing spots and hosting gigs, so I hope to see more of Amy at some time. She hasn’t checked into her MySpace since 1/11 and I wonder if there’ll be any new installments to her show.
Food Network, where is Amy?

One of my favorite family moments of this weekend (and possibly all-time) was replaying Blake Lewis’ Top 3 performance “When I get you alone” for the kids.
As Little Einstein fans, they are familiar with the first few bars of the song that are originally taken from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. The clip immediately caught their attention and they started dancing along.
All of the kids, including my youngest who is 16 months old, were waving their arms in the air and swinging their hips or hopping or bobbing in pure happiness and enjoyment. They even wanted to replay the performance again. I’d say we have some Blake fans in the house.
Since it’s season finales week and the final week before DS’ birthday bash, I’ll either be cleaning house, watching my DVR or writing recaps this week. (Heroes finale countdown in under 3 hours!!!)
In the meantime, enjoy Blake – my kids did!

As much as I love medical shows, I sometimes can’t deal with the medical realities of the plot. Anytime a child, pregnant woman, or mother my age is written into the storyline, it sometimes hits close to home. This week’s ep played on many of my fears as a parent and wife. The writers sure know how to write compelling drama.
So many favorite/funny/touching/memorable moments:
- Alex doing his job as a doctor/surgeon despite his purgatory-like assignment to Dr. Sheppard.
- “She didn’t wash her hands!”
- “I’m trying to fix what you broke. You have no right to call me a whore.”
